Chocolate or Carob 60-second Mousse

IMG_4787

Chocolate mousse: the staple dessert for any occasion. This recipe can be made with cacao powder for the traditional flavour, but I love to replace mine with carob powder instead for more of a caramel/treacle type taste – try it and let me know which you prefer! The avocado makes the mousse creamier and gives it that indulgent texture, but don’t worry, you can’t taste it, plus it provides a healthy serving of beneficial fats that will keep your brain happy while your tastebuds have fun.

Serves 1

Preparation time: 60 seconds if you’re fast!

1 ripe banana

¼ large ripe avocado

1 tsp carob/cacao powder

1 tsp maple syrup

1 tbsp water

Desired toppings

If making the cacao version, add in a pinch of cinnamon as well for a little extra flavour.

  1. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend away, spoon it into a bowl at speed, and hastily sprinkle with toppings. Did you beat the clock?
